MICHELIN Guide’s Point Of View
Chic and elegant, this Fifth Avenue dazzler is spread over two-plus floors, each with distinctive personalities. Solo diners take to the buzzy ground level, with its long bar and open kitchen; while the sultry feel of the upper planes speaks to those dining à deux. Chef Seungjoon Choi showcases an intriguing Asian-fusion menu that takes you around the world. Unexpected items, such as the cheese and charcuterie menu, may appear out of place yet it somehow fits right in; just as the raw menu, featuring oysters with gochujang and plum mignonette, highlights the same mash-up mentality. Creativity also abounds in the crispy sea urchin, while the Asian-accented rice pudding amplifies a sense of drama in both look and flavor with fresh mango and black lime ash.
